Calico Ghost Town

I couldn't leave our hotel without taking a few pictures of the interesting decor, like this light by the elevator and the wild carpet.  Las Vegas is all about the carpets.
On our way out of town we made a stop at the world's largest Harley store, according to Tim.  I guess he looked at tires or something.  I just walked around oggling the paint jobs on some of these bikes.  Wow!

On our way back home we decided to stop off at Calico Ghost town and have some lunch.

This is a rite of passage kind of place.  Everyone goes there as a kid...once.

We took the mine tour, had lunch overlooking the valley, climbed some rocks.

But I'm sure the thing my boys will remember the most is that we let them buy rubberband guns, oh my...

Vegas Day 3

Made it over to the Outlets for shopping.  It was really nice actually.  They had a pretty wide selection of stores.  Liam got all kinds of fun stuff.  Rett made it his mission to ride every coin machine in the place.  This car is one of many.  We split up at one point.  I was in the Banana Republic store and the boys went over to Quiksilver.  Tim left Liam to his looking and pushed Rett, in the stroller, over to more coin operated fun.  When I met up with Liam in his store, he looked around for some socks he was planning to purchase but couldn't find where he put them down.  Then he realized he set them on the top of the stroller, on the little canopy part that folds back...
I sent Tim a text "Were you a shoplifter?"
"Why"
"Better check your cart"
"Nothing....socks!  They were hidden.  Be right back."
When he gets back to the store, his stroller sets off the alarm at the door.  Then he mentions how that happened when he left the store too, but never found the items that set off the beeping.
Dinner at Nobu, my very favorite place.

Rett was so tired.  We had to employ all kinds of entertaining tactics to keep him awake.  Oh the fun to be had with chop sticks.

Our meal was delicious as always.

Some of the things we had: the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno, Black Cod with Miso, Salmon Skin Salad, King Crab & Avacado Ceviche and tons of edamame.   I'm getting hungry just writing this.

Vegas Day 2

Inside of the Wynn.  Picking up our tickets for Le Reve.
Vegas is a city that takes their carpets very seriously.
Looking at the pirate ships outside Treasure Island.  After that Rett talked constantly about wanting to see the Pirate Show.
Inside the Venetian.  It made us think of our trip to Italy.  Very cool canals here too, but much newer. We watched the "show" in the pavilion.  Here's a juggler on stilts.
Lunch at Spagos.  We had planned on going to the FAO Swartz inside Caesar's but it was closed due to remodeling.  Very disappointing.

Also, at lunch Rett accidently got a piece of fancy bread with walnuts in it.  Total allergic reaction.  Several Benadyll later and he was feeling better.
After Tim and I went to Le Reve we took the boys to the Pinball Museum.  It's way, way off the strip.  But for our pinball loving family it was a great adventure.
Check out the size on this mini-pinball machine.  It was the perfect size for Rett, so cool.  We are now scouring the internet to try and find another one.

Back to the Nursery

Nursery time. We purchased some new trees for our backyard. Tried to order some matching pots to ones we already own, but the glaze color is off by just enough that they don't match. So we're still on the hunt for those.

Trying to get a cute Daddy picture. Rett wanted a silly face picture instead.

Soccer Practice

Coach Ann brought a mini penny along for Rett to wear.
He loves soccer practice.  Even the sit ups and push ups.
Work 'em Coach Tim.

Liam's Guitar & Salsa Dancing

Grandma gets Liam his own guitar! It's a Yamaha. Can't wait to see if his Guitar Hero skills cross over to the real thing.

Birthday

Dinner at PF Changs, Newport Beach

Rett asked where all my other gifts were.

I told him when you're a grown up you only get one gift...but's usually pretty good.

Farrell's

The family. All ten of us together.

The friends. All five of them, plus Rett.

The Volcano, 30 scoops of ice cream!....and they asked him to please stand up and sing Happy Birthday to himself, as loud as he could. Sing it loud, sing it proud.

Don't worry, they shared with the whole table.

Christmas

Santa was here!!
"Santa got it right!" The last couple of days he was doubting whether or not Santa could remember what he wanted, this Leapster game was of particular importance.
A rare photo of me and my first born. We look so much alike in this picture?!
Our first Christmas dinner at the new house. All 10 of us together, except neciepoo, who volunteered to take our picture. Didn't she do a fantastic job!?
The boys putting together Rett's new firestation so he can play with it.
