Today's topics include second grade sickness, teenage finals, how loving Harry Potter drives you to do silly things and reasons why I wear make-up.

Instagram photo April 1, 2012 Day 1 Reflection

Well, I'm back to the blog!

It's been nearly two years since I've actually posted...but I miss it...and have thought of returning SO many times.
I've decided to dive right in with this very revealing Instagram photo in the hopes that it will motivate me to get crackin!

Sheesh, what a mess!  I'm now just a teensy bit embarrassed, but today's title was reflection and this pretty much sums it up.

Corner Bakery then Barnes & Noble

The cool kids hang out at Corner Bakery.  Rett kept asking everyone "Can you do THIS with your fingers?"  Very tricky indeed.
Liam and his friend were nice enough to hang out with Rett in the kids section of Barnes and Noble while Tim and I did our shopping.

I went back to check on them awhile later and found they were reading him a book.  It was even educational!  I love these boys!

Library Day

We spend a lot of time at the library. Grandma came with us today and snapped our photo.

Firebears

Rett's favorite book right now is Firebears by Rhonda Gowler Green.

I've caught him reciting the story to himself during the day while he does other things! Luv that!

New Books

New board books. We had previously borrowed these from the library, so Rett knew he liked them.

The Five Little Pumpkins rhyme is nearly memorized and the Fire Engine is a classic golden book turned into a board book. Clearly he's been reading them to himself since they are laid out here on the floor.

Favorite Picture Book

This book was purchased for Rett, by Liam at his school's book fair 2 years ago.

It is by far Rett's favorite, so much so, that the nearly half the pages have fallen out and are clipped in the back.

We have hundreds of fabulous, award winning picture books which he enjoys from time to time, but he always comes back to this one.

He requested that I take a picture of it and post it, so here it is.

Mindless Reading

Unfortunately, I've come down with the symptoms Liam just got over (living in a tiny space means nowhere for the germs to go.)

To add insult to injury, Dr T left this morning to go out of town and conduct a weekend seminar.

The one place I had to go today was the library since my books were due, so I checked-out a whole series to keep me busy over the next 3 days. The heroine is a footwear fashionista who can curse like a truck driver (those two characteristics alone endeared her to me as they reminded me of my paternal grandmother.) The twist is, the main character is the much prophesied queen of the undead. Actually very funny, though after reading them I think my IQ may have dropped a little and of course they were terribly trashy.

I plan to make up for it by reading something out of hubby's clinical library.
