Snapshots

Today, walking through SOCO, after a lunch meeting, I stumble upon this cozy scene.

At first glance, I thought it was a chaise.  Upon closer inspection, I found it was a very deep-seated chair and ottoman.  My home office wants one.

Weekend pictures:
Rett was less than thrilled to be at the Galaxy game, which was reminiscent of the time Liam was his age and complained about going to Disneyland too much, just wrong.

To distract him from this torture, we made a game of taking selfies while waiting for the game to start.
I forgot to switch out handbags, therefore, the fancy purse had to do a little heavy lifting.    Louis complained, but luckily it was in french and I ignored him.  No scarves were snagged by a wayward sequin.  Crisis averted.

If I had seen someone else carrying this bag, I would have certainly made fun.

Inappropriate handbags are nearly as offensive as inappropriate footwear...Okay, maybe not, but certainly in the top 10.

Lastly, the freesias I planted last year are starting to rebloom.  The bulbs in the shot below were not originally planted under the fence.

I suspect it's the handy work of a little 6 pound, mischief, loving dog.

#TanktheChihuahuaStrikesAgain.  (I know it's silly to hashtag here, but I just can't help myself.)

Paperwork

Tomorrow morning I meet with the Academic Counselor at Liam's middle school.  Then, in the evening, I get to attend another orientation at the high school.

This is a picture of the paperwork I've been pouring over the last couple of weeks; placement test scores, educational plans, and course descriptions *gulp*.

Waiting at Swim

Got to the gym early.  Had to wait a bit before swim started.  Rett asked if he could play the bunny game on my phone, then went to sit down.  I looked up and saw him and another boy both playing on their Mom's phones.  This generation will have such a different outlook on the world.

"Empty the Dishwasher Please"

And that they did.

I opened up the cutlery drawer sometime later and found this.

I'm assuming they recruited Rett to help put the silverware away.

Next time I'll be sure to do an inspection of the completed work.

Three Kings Day

Went to the French Bakery.

They were out of Galette de Rois by the time we got there.

We settled for cupcakes and cookies.

I figured that would buy me some time with the remaining errands I had.

Next stop the bank.

I had to walk up to the ATM for like 60 seconds....in the mean time Mr. Bound-and-determined-to-make-trouble decided the cupcake icing would make nice shaving cream for his legs.

Science Experiment #325

Rett was very proud of his contraption.

No doubt preparing for the always looming Science Fair.

I really wish this mythical event would take place so we could end the experiments.

The Veggie Book

This book is an important part of our lives, so I figured it deserves a photo.

It contains Rett's Veggie Tales DVDs.

Sometimes he just looks through it and talks about the stories without ever deciding on which video to watch.

Tree-Bush

Look at the azalea!

Not shortly after it was entrusted to our care (that's right it's not even ours) the big boys were playing hide and go seek and one of them fell into it and broke the entire top off.

It used to be a beautifully braided tree, now it's just a humble bush, at least it's alive.

Think they'll notice?

Skateboards

When I was picking up today I saw these skateboards.

It looks like the two larger ones have mated and produced the teensy-weensie one with it's wheels up.

I hope they're not planning on having any more.
