Firepit Shopping

No, you didn't read the title incorrectly.  We were out firepit shopping. 

 

But we didn't take any pictures of potential firepits. 

 

However, we did take these lovely shots of the old garbage cans strewn about the property. 

 

The good news is I am SO over people looking at me like a crazy person when I take these photos.  Completely unphased. 

 

Not sure if that's good or bad?

The Line Up

I walked in to my bedroom and found a line up of garbage cans. 

All of them had just been emptied. 

Shucks, I missed the garbage truck. 

If I hadn't dilly-dallied I could have seen it...Or that's the propaganda that was being handed out at least.

Waste Management

A big Thanks to Miss Jerre for thinking of Rett this holiday season and ordering him a TON of Waste Management items. Including T-shirt, hat, water bottle, patch, garbage can, garbage dumpster, golf tees, WM patch and key chain.

He kept saying "This is the best surprise ever!"

Stainless Steel

Right now I am sure we are the only family who takes pictures of their garbage cans.

What can I say, we're in treatment....kind of.

This was half the price of all the other stainless steel we looked.

It came with a free mini-me, and they both have motion activated lids....these kinds of things are exciting for my family.

Plane Ride Home from WA

Rett got a new garbage truck as an early birthday present from his Auntie, Uncle and cousins. He played with it the whole ride home...and with the empty, white, creamer cups since Mama and Daddy both had coffee...Liam in the foreground, clearly listening to his iPod.

I needed to go to the hardware store today.  

We decided to make the drive to Lowe's...Home Depot knows us too well...

He found the exact garbage cans we have at the new house...the extra ones.

Angels

We went with cousins Amy and Jonas to the Angels vs. Red Sox game. 

This is a picture of the field from our suite; what a way to see a game! 

We had a fantastic time, though Rett was semi-distracted by the great view of the freeway from our seats. Every once in awhile he would exclaim "I see a garbage truck!".

Rainbow Disposal

The Earth Day celebration at Rainbow Disposal was a huge hit! 

They had numerous garbage trucks available for kids to sit in. 

We also had the opportunity to tour the sorting warehouse and participate in sorting the recyclables, they have 39 different categories. 

Our assignment: newspaper. 

We took more pictures here than at Disneyland, hehe.

Favorite Picture Book

This book was purchased for Rett, by Liam at his school's book fair 2 years ago. 

 It is by far Rett's favorite, so much so, that the nearly half the pages have fallen out and are clipped in the back. 

We have hundreds of fabulous, award winning picture books which he enjoys from time to time, but he always comes back to this one. 

He requested that I take a picture of it and post it, so here it is.

A Breakfast Plane

Out to breakfast again, I know, but it's my favorite meal. 
This time the kids menu was a pop-up, piece-together plane complete with stickers. Rett was so excited while Tim was putting it together and helping him with the stickers. 
As soon as it was done he asked for our empty coffee creamers and threw them in the back and exclaimed "This is the best garbage plane ever!" huh?
